The coffee is delicious. I already miss breakfast, after lockdown I'll definitely stop by.
Cafe Sehnsucht is highly recommended
A must try !!!
Known in Cologne and the surrounding area. Should everyone have been once! Breakfast is always a pleasure.
Very nice cafe! The coffee tastes great, the staff is attentive, quick, but above all friendly! I recommend it to everyone, especially the breakfast :)
Great selection at breakfast, everything in top quality, therefore a bit more expensive. Very friendly team. It's just a shame if you have to wait more than 30 minutes for your coffee - I think that's too long, even if it is very full, and unfortunately it has happened several times. Overall, however: highly recommended, with one star, room for improvement in terms of waiting time.
Great breakfast and coffee! Find the dishes unusual and prepared with love. The waitresses are also super friendly and also fulfill special requests!
Very nice to drink coffee! Pleasant atmosphere in the side street of the packed Venloer Straße and fast, friendly service
Mega service !!! Needed a vegan cake / cake at short notice and was not disappointed. I even got a photo before I bought it. Nice, competent. Absolutely to be recommended again!
Unfortunately overrated ..... .... and I'm not that critical either. Price-performance does not match. Milky coffee from a "child's cup", I had to order the sugar (should also be a matter of course for the service), the soft breakfast egg was hard, with the "breakfast for two" you have to buy bread and rolls for € 11.90. Order 90 € per bread roll, the cook probably forgot the organic butter, you have to get the salt yourself (if I order an egg it should be included) In summary and bottom line: For two people just under € 30 and a normal breakfast you can expect more. A pity
Very loud; you can hardly talk. Packed. 30 min. Waited for tea and coffee. Door wide open - it was really cold! Not recommended as a cozy café. It's a shame, the cake is TOP.
Everyone in Cologne should have been here before. Particularly suitable for connoisseurs.
The ambience of the cafe is beautiful. Fast, friendly service and delicious breakfast.
Probably just unlucky, but the house bread was shortly before 2 ran out, and for my 3 small portions of spread (2x hummus, a scoop of unseasoned avocado) and the few leaves of the salad, which costs 7.90, I had to pay 2 euros Order grain bread, simply outrageously inflationary. Everything's ok in terms of taste, but the prices are still a pinch of pepper, gentrification at its best. Price / performance ratio not satisfactory, I wish they could accommodate one when the house bread is all gone. Should have spooned the three sad spreads just like that. Won't come back.
I can't recommend this cafe. Food is overpriced for what it is. Service is abysmal. We wanted to pay by credit card and the waitress bluntly asked "how do you want to pay the tip?" That's embarrassingly impolite. Pay your personell before they start robbing people, judging by the prices you want for the sub-par food, you can efford it. Tripping hazard at the terrace door, watch your step or break your ankle. Annoyed, raging, waitress yelled at my girlfriend and rudely pushed her to the side, while we were paying, because she couldn't be bothered to walk around a table. P.S.: Don't sit outside in summer, if you don't want to get bothered by an army of wasps.
Super COZY restaurant with great dishes, regional, organic and very tasty. The service is also very friendly, quick and attentive. We are often there in the morning for breakfast, but also very often in the evening, there are unusual, lovingly prepared dishes ... and the best white wine in town - try the Neiss !! :)
A super great café with extremely nice staff! Always recommendable. The selection is huge and the taste is 1A! We had to wait outside until a table was available, but that was also stated on the website, so we could guess what to expect. ?? The prices may be too high for some people as the portions aren't the largest, but you won't find anything close to great in the area with such a selection, which is cheaper, so 5/5.
I cannot describe the taste of my plate. (AMAZING) I was amazed by the staff, very friendly, always smiling, it was so good that everyone who goes has to leave the staff a tip.
Waited almost an hour for breakfast despite reservation. Coffee came immediately. I like to drink my coffee during breakfast. Very nice ambience. Staff friendly but not organized. Order concept should be revised.
Very tasty and friendly staff. Only criticism, longer waiting times for the food. But I think it is due to the young and not yet well-rehearsed staff. Otherwise great.
Great coffee and great (vegan) breakfast!
I was here for breakfast and has made my day. Different options to choose from .
Every now and then the kitchen comes up with small culinary pearls. Pleasant, informal atmosphere and attentive service. A beautiful, self-contained place to leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind.
Ok
Good coffee and atmosphere
The food is good, so is the coffee Nice place to stay However, we had to wait some time to be served, and they don't accept Visa payments --> bring cash !
Order the French toast . You are welcome :D
Incredible yet simple breakfasts. Their bacon was delish, as was their mango lassi... Indians would be proud.
This is where my wife and I go for all our special occasions! We love the delicious food, quality drinks and romantic atmosphere. Good portion sizes and value too ... And it's just around the corner from home!
Best breakfast for a Long Time definately recccomended
The waitresses here are friendly and one of them explained the menu to us in English when she saw that we are not German. The food i ordered is good too. We went on a Sunday just before 9 30 am and they were plenty of seats still. But at about 10 am the place filled up and there are people waiting for seats at the bar. So for those planning to come on the weekends, do come early.
Such a cool place with a nice atmosphere and friendly service!
Amazing food. Great atmosphere. The only downside is that it was very hard to get the server's attention.
It’s one of my favorite cafes in ehrenfeld, they have delicious food and good staff, but I don’t go anymore because it’s so crowded every time, usually I like to go to have a nice coffee and make so drawings, but you have always to wait for a table then I ended up going to a different cafe... :(
Me and my friend visited the place for the second time. The first time we liked the place and the food, so we thought why not. And sadly it was a great disappointment. I don't know what was the actual problem, maybe there was not enough staff to serve all the customers? even though our drink order was taken really quickly, we spent 30 min waiting for the actual chance to enjoy it and the possibility to order something to eat. After another 40 min our Omelet, two croissants and a plate of antipasti arrived. There was no bread next to the plate of cheeses and meat (which is okey, it wasn't in the menu). The waiter was asked if he could bring some bread. Suddenly he got very annoyed and even more, when he was asked what kind of bread you have. At the end we did receive a one toasted slice of bread, which arrived after we finished our meal (we waited more than one hour for the meal and were starving after all) at the end we found out that the slice of bread costed us 1.8 eur The plate of Omelet was decorated with one piece of cucumber and two pieces of rucola. I don't know if it suppose to be like that, but seemed as it was done very careless. Not a bad place in general, nice atmosphere, reasonable food but you need to fix such problems if you want people coming back. Or if anybody wants to visit the place, they shouldn't come on Sunday at the rush hour, cause it's a recipe for a bad brunch experience for sure.
Great place to have breakfast, friendly staff and food was amazing!!!
Lovely place to spend a Sunday. It had a lot of people chilling with a coffee, reading the paper and spending the day grazing and having a drink or two. The food was tasty, especially the baked cheesecake.
Great café, nice atmosphere and delicious food & drinks.
Great breakfast and coffee in a great atmosphere ?
Really good food and service. There's a little outdoor area as well. Their coffee from a near roastery Van Dyck is also great.
Wow, the best brunch place we visited in koln!
Cozy but expensive
Very good breakfast.
Friendly staff who can make your day and super delicious Gratin. ??
Reservation is unfortunately not possible, but we soon had a table and were previously parked at the bar and could schonmal order the coffee, which incidentally was very good. Nice staff, excellent breakfast, large selection. Gladly again
Lovely atmosphere, delicious fresh food, and friendly staff
Food is pretty ok. We had fantastic banana bread with chocolate dip. Why 2 star? We wanted to to order more food but keep on getting ignored by the waiters. Never go there if you are in a hurry. The place had too good rating for the really really slow service.
Had some delicious risotto. It was the highlight of my 3 weeks in Europe
Amazing breakfast, everything is bio, so prices are a bit higher then avaregae, but you also get the best quality. Cozy and beautiful inside, stuff is very friendly. Notice that during weekend they open from 9 and not 8.30 like Google shows. Deffinitely will come back here for breakfast and try out dinner!
I'm awarding three stars for the food but deducting two stars for the high price and the uninterested waitroids, none of whom, you felt, were in their chosen occupation. The place is aply named, we sat for almost one hour longing for our breakfast to appear.
